Eggington is a small village but it has two chapels and a church, as well as several fine timbered houses, in its main street. The main house in the village is Eggington House, an elegant late 17th century red brick residence that was once the home of a Lord Mayor of London.
The nearby hamlet of Clipstone has one of Bedfordshire´s few cruck cottages.
Nowadays, village life focuses on the local pub, and the Old School now adopted by the community as a village hall.
