The Derby Gaol, in the depths of the original Derbyshire County Gaol (1756), offers a chilling reminder of the city´s grisly past. You can sample freshly made traditional pies here in front of a roaring open fire during winter months.
The National Trust has a trio of treasures all situated within a 10 mile radius of Derby. Kedleston Hall, Calke Abbey and Sudbury Hall and the National Trust Museum of Childhood each offer breathtaking properties all with their own unique elements of intrigue.
