Fleetwood is a very popular resort. A wide variety of great events are held here, which attracts huge numbers of visitors. A Carnival in July is very entertaining and well supported, and Tram Sunday follows when the whole town centre is filled with vintage vehicles including trams, sideshows, military exhibitions, bands, live music, majorettes and much more. Both make for a truly great day out which has to be seen to be believed.
The Flyde Folk Festival is an all weekend indulgence in Folk Music of every description at venues all over town. Folk dancing takes place on the promenade and it is quite a spectacle to see clog dancers in full flow so colourfully turned out. The Marine Hall plays host to a wide variety of family entertainers, shows, bowling, Antique and Collectors’ Fairs, many dance competitions and you can get a meal or a drink.
Trams travel from Fleetwood to the south of Blackpool. Almost ten miles long it is the most scenic and entertaining tram route in the country. From a tram window you can see the mountains of the Lake District and the Pennines, the Irish Sea and the Blackpool illuminations.
