The parish of Moulsford in South Oxfordshire extends west of the River Thames to the crest of the Downs, with footpaths linking the Thames Path to the Ridgeway.
The old heart of the village includes several half-timbered cottages and manor houses, and the small church dates back to the 14th century. One of its best known features is the riverside Beetle and Wedge Hotel, the “beetle“ referring to a traditional form of hammer.
The towpath provides a footway from Moulsford to Streatley through an attractive section of the Thames Valley.
